Diving into your Creative Talent

At some point we look at ourselves, and wonder what if?
What if I spent my time, I mean my 9-5 time doing what I truly love. Yes, we all have jobs of some sort, but what about the job you wish you had or were doing. Actually why even call it a job, it's your god given talent, some of us were taught most of us it was a creative gift from above. How ever you acquired or whenever you acquired this talent, doesn't matter. What matters is that you have it, you have a talent to create and make beautiful things.

Wouldn't it be a shame and total loss if we sat and did nothing with that talent because we either didn't make the time or felt time wasn't on our side on any given day, to take a chance to seriously work on our talent and try to make it be what we do full time. Thoughts of how will I survive, pay my bills, the car, insurance the list goes on.. if I were to try to make a living full time off my creative talent. Looking at a scale or range of
where we think our particular talent is, then dances in our head.

Maybe you feel your talent is good, but not great enough to earn you a substantial financial reward, well no where near  what you probably make at that bank, brokerage house or law firm your at now..  Thus the pause.. and the dilemma...  but is it really?

I guess if we convince ourselves we won't make it or the road will be too rough, why of course it will already seem to be. What if we said, lets try this out, what if,  just what if I could make a go of this and something grand could come out of it, if nothing else I gave it a try and I now no longer have to wonder what if?  No decision is ever easy, and trying to make a living from something you love doing is no exception.

So take a step 1 at a time, write up a plan, a budget, a product line etc.. Don't quit your day job today, but as you work slowly spend more of your free time to your craft and talent.
Research areas where you could live or move to, where it might be better for you to pursue your talent and the financial cost wouldn't be so great, compared to where your at now. Depending on what you do, maybe a move from a small to big city is the better move for you, or vice versa from big to small.

No matter your situation create in the process, start to network, get your ideas your brand looked and heard upon. Start putting aside some small savings to hold you over, when you finally decide this is the day I will be my employer, and work doing what I love. Now don't forget, have insurance, housing, credit all of your responsibilities in tack and know how your gonna maintain and manage them as you go through this life changing transition.

Having journals, researching, talking to other self employed, small business men/women in your area of talent is a plus. With the help of the internet, there are so many avenues in which you can study and gather vital information, help & tips..  Look this very blog I'm writing may help someone as we speak to decide to live their dream.  Just remember at the end of the day take what you can from all these points of interest, but make it "YOUR OWN" do it your way, don't copy someone elses idea, thoughts or plans. Learn from it, and put your spin on it or expand from the initial idea, thought or concept. To grow we must be willing to learn, take chances, live out our dreams but most of all be true to ourselves and keep some perspective as to what the end result may or may not be, and be accepting to that conclusion and keep an open mind.

Somewhere along your journey, you will feel ready and take that plunge and
"Dive into your Creative Talent" and when you do, all those initial fears will be gone and you will thrive off your creative energy, and the universe will do it's part as well and soon you will be doing what you love full time, and hopefully with the right planning and yes sometimes luck, you will be making what you did on your previous 9-5, or close to it, with one big difference.. You will wake up every day happily wanting to be at work, doing work and anxious to do it all over again the next business day; with a smile and look of joy, satisfaction, determination and fulfillment.  Yes!
